The QROPS legislation came into force in April 2006 and is derived from the Finance Act 2004. QROPS are special overseas pension schemes which satisfy the rules and regulations laid down by the legislation. The rules facilitate the transfer of frozen UK pensions into QROPS by UK expatriates or any former UK resident.
